Parish Leadership Open Positions



For Pastoral Council and Parish Standing Committee Positions 2023

We are seeking parish leaders to fill five openings on Pastoral Council and several open positions for committees. We're specifically looking for candidates with great faith, energy, and a sense of the mission of the parish, who are able to work well with others. Candidates must be registered parishioners at St. Alphonsus for at least one year, be a baptized and practicing Catholic, at least 18 years old (youth representative must be 14 or older), and a regular participant in parish worship life.

Pastoral Council 

The Pastoral Council formulates policy, fosters good communication, provides leadership by establishing goals and witnessing of the Gospel message. Pastoral Council members serve for a three-year term.


Pastoral Council Standing Committees

Standing Committees assist the Pastoral Council as the working bodies of the parish. Committee members serve at least one year, unless the by-laws require a more specific term of office.

Christian Formation - Promotes educational/formational aspects of church's mission; interacts with Christian Formation Team; includes Vocations

Human Concerns - Connects with human concerns working groups in the areas of Justice Education, Social Action, and Direct Services; includes Respect Life

Liturgy - Responsible for the coordination and direction of all Liturgical Ministries

School - Coordinates and shapes policy with the Principal for the operation of the school
