My name is Rebecca Trojan and I have been the Spanish teacher here at St. Al's for over 30 years. Both of my children graduated from St. Al's where they received a great education. I was invited by the principal at the time to start a Spanish program here. It was a challenge I took on, and with the grace of God, here we are 30 years later. Before that I taught in the Bilingual program for Milwaukee Public Schools.
I was born and raised in Milwaukee but I was made in Mexico. I am of Mexican descent and Spanish was my first language. I got my degree from UWM and have attended Alverno College and Carthage College to further my studies in Spanish education. I love teaching Spanish to my students. It's such a beautiful and practical language. It is the second most spoken language in the world with English as third.
I am married to Joe and we have 2 adult married children. We have 5 grandsons, 3 of whom live in Arizona with my son, Joe and daughter-in-law, Stephanie. The younger grandsons live in Wisconsin with my daughter, Mandy and son-in-law, TJ. God has been so good to me. When I am not teaching I love being with family, doing yoga, and reading.
