7th and 8th Grade Language Arts and 8th Grade Literature Teacher
Hi, I am Peter Strangfeld.
I graduated from UW-Milwaukee in 2004 with degrees in print journalism and literature. I then enrolled in the teaching licensure program and received my formal license in Secondary English Education (Grades 6-12) in 2007.
My family is from West Allis, and my parents and I still live there. I have two older brothers, each one of whom has two children, and since they both live in southeast Wisconsin, one of my favorite roles in life is being an active and attentive uncle. Each weekend I can be found at dance competitions, basketball games, swim meets, etc.
Most people who know me well know that I spend my free time immersed in books and music. I read about 2 books per week, and I prefer music that fits the nebulous punk/alternative/emo genre. Though I am not a fan of TV in general, my past and present students know that I am a fanatic for early seasons of The Simpsons. I follow college and professional sports fairly closely, but I prefer attending events involving St. Alphonsus - GO COUGARS!
Though most people with my particular license teach high school, I am simply too happy at St. Alphonsus to want to teach anywhere else. I cannot picture a better working environment. Perhaps more importantly, I cannot picture more enthusiastic, pleasant children to work with every day of the school year.
