Groups: Liturgical Ministers,School
My name is Mary Duckert and I teach 6th grade at St. Alphonsus School. I joined the St. Al’s teaching staff 28 years ago as a 4th grade teacher. I was blessed with the opportunity to teach 5th grade as well and currently teach Math for 5th grade. Now, I enjoy showing my 6th graders the joy of learning Math and Language Arts. I grew up in Milwaukee and ironically live in my grandparent’s home. Even as a child, I called Catholic schools home attending St. Margaret Mary Grade School and then Divine Savior Holy Angels High School. I earned my Bachelor’s in Education from Cardinal Stritch University.
I am truly blessed with a wonderful family. My husband and I have two fantastic sons, Cody and Thomas. Presently, Cody is serving in the Navy. While Thomas is completing is first year at Lakeland University in Sheboygan. Both my sons attended St. Alphonsus School. Our family also includes our mischievous puppy, Kenzie, who keeps us busy with her antics. When we are not chasing after our dog, our family loves to camp and hike. Every summer we go camping and always find a new spot to enjoy a great hike. We are big supporters of the wonderful state parks of Wisconsin. We also love to travel. Recently, we have been hanging out in South Carolina enjoying the beautiful beaches. We also own land in Rusk County and when we have time off; we travel to Ladysmith, WI and enjoy the local Dairy Queen. In my spare time, I enjoy reading a good book and crocheting. I also enjoy warm, summer nights and of course, chocolate.
