Join the Greendale, Milwaukee, and Hales Corners Communities in Prayer

Join us on Good Friday - April 7th, 2023
Walk with the Cross, 2pm beginning at St. Thomas of Canterbury Episocopal Church
Ecumenical Service, 3pm - St. Alphonsus Catholic Church

Back in 1969, Clergy and Congregations from the Christian Churches in Greendale planned to mark Good
Friday by walking with a homemade Cross through the Village, and concluding with a Prayer Service.
Over the years, Pastors and Congregations have expanded to include Greenfield, Milwaukee, and Hales
Corners. The walk begins with gathering at St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Church, praying a
Common Prayer, walking in procession to St. Luke’s Lutheran, then to Greendale Community Church,
and concluding at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. Families take turns carrying the Cross. Some join at
one of the “station” Churches. Some folks come just for the Prayer Service at St. Alphonsus. This year’s
Ecumenical Prayer Service is focused on “the Stations of the Cross,” with brief reflections by various
clergy. Participating this year are Adoration Lutheran , Greendale Community - UCC, Emmanuel United
Church of Christ, Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic, St. Alphonsus Catholic, St. Luke’s Lutheran, St. Stephen
the Martyr Lutheran, and St. Thomas of Canterbury Episcopal Churches. We welcome you to join us!
