St. Alphonsus School Mission Statement
St. Alphonsus Parish School is a Christ-centered school providing Christian education and formation based on Scripture and Catholic Tradition, preparing young persons to embrace the ministry of the Gospel in their lives. We believe that it is our responsibility to nurture life-long growth in an environment that provides academic excellence in all areas.
We exist, in partnership with the family, the parish, and the community, to develop the whole child in order to attain the life-skills necessary for Christian cooperation and involvement in society, through respect for oneself, global society and the environment.
St. Alphonsus Philosophy of Education
We believe that…
The climate for effective learning must be one that provides a safe, encouraging, and stimulating environment for children to learn modeled upon the ways that Jesus taught.
All students must experience success through varied learning modalities.
All people grow in a culture of Peace and Respect. Therefore, as responsible Christians, we encourage one another to act with reverence toward God, ourselves, others, and our world.
St. Alphonsus School Goals
We will:
Foster and encourage a Christ-centered culture through liturgy, prayer, religious instruction, and a life-long love of learning rooted in Catholic values and the conviction to follow them.
Establish a climate of respect in which students show reverence toward God and act with respect for self, others, and the environment.
Create an environment that encourages students to become responsible and provides opportunities for leadership and service to others.
Develop and maintain excellent academic programs that set high expectations which challenge each student.
Develop the talents and interests of all students by differentiating instruction so that creativity is fostered and individual needs are addressed.
Assess students based on the belief that learning is the process of acquiring and applying knowledge, thinking critically to solve problems, and stimulating curiosity through inquiry and discovery.
