A recent program offered by the Adult Ministry.

Bishop Sklba explored the Maleness of Saint Joseph, Foster Father of Jesus.

This event was held on March 10th, 2007 in the St. Al's Community Room.

Adult and Family Ministry at St. Alphonsus is dedicated to helping parishioners develop their personal spirituality in Christ and their identification within the Catholic community. Through this ministry the parish responds to the stages of adult development and family life in a way that prepares individuals and families to participate in their baptismal call. "Family" includes single people, dual and single parents, and healing families of those who are separated, divorced, widowed, and remarried. Programs are designed around these goals.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults: This process is for unbaptized adults, those baptized in other Christian traditions, and those baptized in the Catholic church but not raised in the faith, who now wish to be received into the Catholic church or complete their initiation within the church. The reception of the sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist is celebrated annually at the Easter Vigil. Preparation takes place throughout the year. For additional information, call the Director of Adult and Family Ministry at the Christian Formation Office.

Adult Confirmation: Adults who have already been baptized and have received their first communion and are now seeking the sacrament of Confirmation are invited to participate in a process in collaboration with our neighboring parishes. The sacrament is celebrated during the Easter Vigil. For additional information, call the Director of Adult and Family Ministry at the Christian Formation Office.

V.I.S.I.O.N. (Volunteers In Spiritual Service In Our Neighborhood): The VISION Ministry is an ecumenical group representing six churches of southwest Milwaukee County. The concern of the group is to extend the healing presence of the church to those people confined to their homes or health care facilities by building nontraditional relationships/bridges between churches and health care systems. For additional information, call the Director of Adult and Family Ministry at the Christian Formation Office.

South Side Separated/Divorced Ministry: This ministry is a structured process, led by a trained professional over a six-week period, dealing with issues of separation and divorce. For additional information, call the Director of Adult and Family Ministry at the Christian Formation Office.

O.M.E.G.A. (Opportunities for Mind Enrichment and Growth for Adults): OMEGA offers short courses for mature adults 50+ around areas of interest. These learning experiences last four or eight weeks and are offered each Fall and Spring. For additional information, call the Director of Adult and Family Ministry at the Christian Formation Office.

Caring Community: This group is a daytime weekly gathering of parishioners who share faith by reflecting on the Sunday Gospel and who try to connect that faith to their life experiences. For additional information, call the Director of Adult and Family Ministry at the Christian Formation Office.

Little Rock Scripture Study: This is a structured program which encourages personal study around a particular section of the scriptures. The format includes group discussion, prayer, and socializing. For additional information, call the Director of Adult and Family Ministry at the Christian Formation Office.

Spiritual Renewal Days: This is a process of spiritual renewal which is offered annually around Lent. Guest presenters focus on a particular topic of Christian spirituality over several days and evenings. The renewal sessions blend prayer and reflection, concluding with a social. For additional information, call the Director of Adult and Family Ministry at the Christian Formation Office.

Retreats/Days of Renewal: Various retreats and/or days of renewal are offered throughout the year, each with a special focus. These are announced through the parish Bulletin. For additional information, call the Director of Adult and Family Ministry at the Christian Formation Office.
